Practices for LGBTQIA Inclusion (Previously: How to Be an Ally)

Despite progress towards visibility, LGBTQIA people in physics experience bias and discrimination that impacts their retention and sense of belonging in the field. Come learn about the experiences of LGBTQIA physicists and learn ways to be an ally to LGBTQIA people and create more inclusive physics environments. Though this workshop is focused on LGBTQIA people, we hope the knowledge and strategies you learn can be used to support other marginalized groups in physics, such as POC and disabled physicists. This workshop is in collaboration with the Georgia Tech LGBTQIA Resource Center.

Learn strategies to parse through scientific text – both in popular media and scientific journals – and how to make well-thought-out, accessible scientific presentations.

Destigmatizing Learning Disabilities in STEM

Emotionally Empowered: Managing Mental Health
